UC Berkeley– Undergraduate Course on Visual Notetaking and Design Thinking

A semester long, large-scale introductory undergraduate "De-Cal" or student-taught course on visual thinking/representation/note-taking and design thinking. Students begin by critiquing the way they take notes in class and practice strategies for making this a more visual, engaging, effective process-- particularly in large, lecture-based classes. From there, we move into strategies for implementing creative, design-based techniques into a student's everyday assignments (everything from font design to original diagram creation) and finally, we talk about ways to implement design thinking into post-university life (beginning with visual resume design to business card creation)
