St. Joseph’s Academy

St. Joseph's Academy is an all-girls college-preparatory school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We utilize design thinking in our Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Lab. In the STEM Lab, our students are encouraged to explore, tinker and make mistakes in order to discover how to use the STEM fields to serve the community. We are in the process of developing a Design and Innovation Lab in which we will work on projects in all content areas using the design thinking methodology. While it is important to continue to better educate our students in STEM fields, we feel that it is equally important to teach them how art and engineering can come together to meet the needs of the community.
