About Idea Source is a totally unique School project in Sihanoukville Cambodia. Using state-of-the-art blended learning and bags of fun, it will provide the human capital to secure Cambodia's future in a period of rapid and global socio-economic change. Mission To strike the perfect balance between the interests, aptitudes and aspirations of the individual international student, enabling them to see and serve the future needs, requirements and opportunities arising from new forms of human communication, industry, sharing of culture, development of communities, nation, region and world. Description While the internet has provided unprecedented access to knowledge and educational resources, the challenge now is how to properly harness this resource so as to make it work in preparing the child's future. Simply giving a child a computer and internet access, cannot and will not, guarantee either learning or a future. How can you have an opinion on something you have never known? As the access to knowledge becomes easier with the spread of the Internet and access to everything from patent information to MIT class work and basic research papers approaches zero cost, the knowledge of an individual becomes limited by his/her interests and ability to understand. Developing student abilities to understanding, absorb and make sense of knowledge is the key role of the Idea Source teacher. "Meaning is context-bound, but context is boundless." Jonathan D. Culler The aim of the school is to provide a solid foundation of relevant skills, mastery and knowledge in laguages, maths and science enabling students from Cambodia and overseas to understand and participate in a meaningful way in a rapidly changing world of international industry, commerce and social reality. By using advanced curriculum based on the latest blended learning approaches, a strong focus on languages, media and communication, all packaged within a unique and advanced advanced curriculum framework - The Contextual Curriculum - we work closely with students to identify, sketch and achieve world class learning outcomes and 'mind over media' - 'thinking beyond the machine'. Above and beyond serious and compelling study we also believe in inculcating a healthy culture of fun and intellectual adventure, healthy eating, engagement and learning. We want our students to look forward to and love coming to school.
