Flint Hill School

We offer a one-semester Design Thinking course to students in our upper school. Through this multidisciplinary class, students discover and engage with the components of design thinking: understanding the human needs of a project, framing opportunities, ideating independently and collaboratively, constructing and testing prototypes, and iterating early and often. The goal of the course is for students to partner with members of the faculty and staff to redesign a space in the school. Students observe and interview the users in order to develop empathy for the target audience. Through the design thinking process, students practice skills of research, data analysis, writing, presentation, and critical thinking to deliver the final product.
